The Malaga Fair is held during the month of August<\/strong> and is as amazing as the Seville Fair or the Jerez Fair. At this festival the whole of Malaga paints the town red to enjoy one of the biggest parties of the year: the Malaga Fair that for 10 days and nights will keep both locals and tourists visiting the Costa del Sol on these summer dates more than entertained.<\/p>\n

It is possibly the most important summer celebration on the entire Costa del Sol. The reasons are many and varied, ranging from enjoying the best climate in Europe to raucous festivals, via monuments, beaches, museums and cultural visits, but, above all and mainly, good music and delicious gastronomy. Whoever you are and however intensely you want to experience it, at Malaga festivals, the most important thing is to enjoy the experience at one of the most beautiful spots in Europe.<\/p>\n

The M\u00e1laga Fair 2025<\/strong> will take place from Saturday 16th to Saturday 23rd August<\/strong>, offering a full week of colour, music and Andalusian culture.
\nAs tradition dictates, the festivities kick off on the night of 15th August<\/strong> with a spectacular fireworks and light show over the beaches of La Malagueta, Misericordia and Huelin<\/strong>, starting at 11:50 pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Opening speech<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

The official opening ceremony<\/strong>, known as the preg\u00f3n<\/em>, will be held on the evening of Saturday 16th August<\/strong> at the Cortijo de Torres fairground<\/strong>, just before the lights are switched on to illuminate this vibrant, temporary city.
\nThis year\u2019s honour goes to acclaimed M\u00e1laga-born writer Javier Castillo<\/strong>, author of The Snow Girl<\/em>, who promises a heartfelt tribute to his hometown and the essence of M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n

Live music and free performances<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s fair brings more than 200 free shows<\/strong>, blending the best of national talent with beloved local artists to fill every corner with festive cheer.
\nConfirmed performers include Chambao, Camela, Merche, Mojinos Escoz\u00edos, Toreros con Chanclas, Paco Candela<\/strong> and Joana Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, among others.
\nFlamenco fans will be spoilt for choice, with dedicated spaces such as the Caseta del Flamenco<\/strong>, the Pe\u00f1a Juan Breva<\/strong> and the Municipal Auditorium<\/strong>, which will also host the final of the prestigious \u201cCiudad de M\u00e1laga\u201d Flamenco Singing Contest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A celebration of local tradition<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fair\u2019s folkloric heart beats through the rhythms of verdiales troupes<\/strong>, who will perform along Calle Larios<\/strong> and at the fairground, accompanied by dance academies and local choirs<\/strong>, keeping centuries-old traditions alive and vibrant.<\/p>\n

Family-friendly fun<\/strong><\/p>\n

Little ones will have plenty to enjoy at the Children\u2019s Municipal Caseta<\/strong> and the Magic Fair<\/strong>, held in the charming Plaza de la Merced<\/strong>, where storytelling, laughter and imagination take centre stage.<\/p>\n

Equestrian passion<\/strong><\/p>\n

From 16th to 23rd August<\/strong>, the Equestrian Exhibition Centre<\/strong> at the fairground will host daily demonstrations of Andalusian horsemanship and equestrian arts \u2014 a stirring tribute to the region\u2019s deep equine heritage<\/p>\n

Safety and well-being for everyone<\/h3>\n

M\u00e1laga Fair 2025 will feature both static and mobile \u201cPurple Points\u201d<\/strong>, safe spaces managed by trained professionals to help prevent gender-based violence.
\nThe site will also be equipped with 15 strategically placed defibrillators<\/strong>, offer a free orthopaedic equipment loan service<\/strong>, and the \u201cEl Rengue\u201d Caseta<\/strong> will provide inclusive programming tailored to older visitors.<\/p>\n

Bringing innovation to the celebration, the fair introduces \u201cTuFerIA\u201d<\/strong>, a virtual assistant available via WhatsApp. It\u2019s your go-to guide for real-time info on timetables, transport, caseta locations, free breathalyser tests and emergency services<\/strong> \u2014 all from the palm of your hand.<\/p>\n
